Changes to appointment reminder letters

19 February 2025

We’re making changes to how we send appointment reminders to make the process more efficient, reduce waste, and save money.

What’s changing?

Before every donation, we send you an appointment reminder letter with your Donation Safety Check (DSC) questionnaire in the post and ask you to bring it with you when you come to donate.

However, we have been trialling a change where we no longer send appointment reminders by post to some donors.

The trial was successful, so we are rolling this out to all donors.

You will continue to receive:

  • appointment reminders via text, email and the NHS Give Blood app.
  • your Donor Safety Check questionnaire in the post, but without the appointment confirmation details.

By making this change, it allows us to be more efficient, reduce our environmental impact and save money.

What do you need to do?

  1. Ensure your contact details are up to date, so you receive your reminders by text or email.
  2. Download the NHS Give Blood app for easy access to your appointment details.

You can update your contact details in your online account.
