Booking platelet appointments online
Did you know that platelet donors can now book and manage appointments online?
We’ve been working hard to make improvements to online services at blood.co.uk and the NHS Give Blood mobile app based on the feedback we have received.
As part of this work, platelet donors can now book, move and cancel appointments online and in the mobile app months in advance.
The NHS Give Blood app offers a real-time view of available appointments close to your location.
The app is available for Apple and Android and is the most convenient way of booking your next platelet appointment – making it possible to book future appointments while you are in the donation chair.
The appointment search function helpfully suggests a venue for you, including with Google Maps integration, and shows which days have limited slots.
Platelet donors will now also be prompted to check their eligibility to donate and will be able to check their donation milestones online.
If you had an online account when you were donating blood, you can use the same login details for booking platelet appointments.
If you have never had an online account before, you can create one online, before downloading the latest version of the app.
To download the app, you can search ‘NHS Give Blood’ on the Apple App Store or Google Play.
