Covering your travel expenses

Plasma donor with a member of donation staffWe recognise the efforts that our plasma donors make to come and donate, and we want to help make donating plasma as easy and convenient as possible.

We are running a pilot to help donors with the cost of their travel. This means that when you attend a plasma appointment you can claim up to £20 against the cost of your travel.

Why we are doing this pilot?

The purpose of the pilot is to understand more about donor behaviour and whether offering travel expenses will encourage donors to donate more often, or if they would consider donating when they haven’t previously.

Plasma donors can donate more regularly than blood donors and we want to explore whether contributing to the cost of travel removes barriers to plasma donation, which in turn helps us to save and improve more lives.
