Our queuing system
Your questions answered
We have introduced a queuing system on our blood donation website and the NHSGiveBlood app, to manage periods of higher demand.
Why have I been placed in a queue?
There are periods when the blood.co.uk web site or the NHSGiveBlood app get a high volume of traffic due to attention via the press or social platforms.
We use a queuing solution to manage the situation by allowing a set number of people to use our services at a time. This ensures that once you leave the queue, you get a good experience as our systems are not over loaded.
What is Queue-it? Is it safe?
Queue-it is the solution we chose to help us create and manage a queue.
Queue-it has been assessed and tested by our team alongside our web site and app. You can visit our terms and conditions page if you have further questions about cookies or data.
How long will I be in a queue?
How long you will have to wait depends on how many people are trying to use the web site or app. You will be able to see your position in the queue and an estimate for how long you need to wait.
Could I be placed in a queue again in the future?
Our queuing system will only be active when we are very busy. If you leave our web site or the app and come back later, you may be put in a new queue if we are still busy.
What do I do if I see an error?
