Where to park

There is free parking at the front of the donor centre labelled 'donor parking only' plus additional free parking in the large car park opposite.

Travelling to the donor centre

The centre is located on the Addenbrookes Hospital site.

If you are travelling by:

bus: Addenbrooke’s Hospital has its own bus station at the Hills Road entrance to the site. The majority of buses pick up and drop off here.
bicycle: there is a bike storage rack outside the donor centre.
train: the nearest station is Cambridge South, which is approximately 15 minute walk from the donor centre.
car: there is free parking for donors outside the donor centre in spaces labelled 'donor parking only'.

From A14 (East or West)

Leave the A14 at Junction 35 and take the A1303 towards Cambridge
At the next roundabout take the first exit onto Airport Way
Go straight across at all the mini roundabouts and traffic lights
Continue onto Queen Edith's Way until you come to a major roundabout and take the first exit onto the A1134
At the next roundabout continue straight ahead onto Long Road to Addenbrookes Hospital
Take the first left onto Adrian Way
The donor centre is on the left hand side before the mini roundabout

Opening hours

Cambridge donor centre is open from 7:50am to 4:30pm or 10:50am to 7:30pm, including every Saturday.

What you can donate

Blood

An appointment to give blood takes an hour, with the donation taking around 5-10 minutes.

Your blood could help someone in an emergency, help save the lives of mothers and babies during childbirth, or help to fight sickle cell.

An appointment to give platelets takes around 2 hours, with the donation taking up to 90 minutes.

Your platelets could help someone combat cancer or recover from losing a lot of blood after an accident, organ transplant or surgery.
