Accessibility

The donor centre is fully wheelchair accessible with street level access. There is an automatic door at the entrance that can be opened with a push pad at wheelchair-accessible height.

Travelling to the donor centre

You can find the centre on London Road, next to BBC Radio Gloucestershire. Access to the centre is through the archway.

If you are travelling by:

bus: the nearest bus stop is the Bus Depot, which is a 2 minute walk from the donor centre.
train: Gloucester station is about 10 minute walk away.
bicycle: there are bike stands you can use to lock your bike at the donor centre.
car: there are car parking spaces for donors directly outside the donor centre in spaces labelled 'donor parking'.

At junction 11A, exit onto A417 towards Gloucester
Merge onto A417
At Zoon's Court roundabout, take the 2nd exit and stay on A417
At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto Co Avenue
At Wall's Roundabout, take the 3rd exit onto Barnwood Road/A28
At the roundabout, take the 1st exit onto London Road/B4063
The donor centre will be on your right, next to BBC Radio Gloucestershire
Head through the archway to access the centre

At junction 11, exit onto A40 towards Gloucester
Merge onto A40
Slight left to stay on A40
At Elbridge Court, take the 3rd exit onto Cheltenham Road/B4063
At the roundabout, continue straight to stay on on Cheltenham Road
Turn right onto London Road
The donor centre will be on your right, next to BBC Radio Gloucestershire

Opening hours

The donor centre is open on weekdays, evenings and weekends, as follows:

Monday - 11am - 7:30pm
Tuesday - 11am - 7:30pm
Wednesday - closed
Thursday and Friday - opening hours alternate weekly:
- Week 1: Thursday (8am - 4:40pm), Friday (11am - 7:30pm)
- Week 2: Thursday (11am - 7:30pm), Friday (8am - 4:40pm)
Saturday - 8am - 3:30pm
Sunday - closed

What can you donate

Blood

An appointment to give blood takes an hour, with the donation taking around 5-10 minutes.

Your blood could help someone in an emergency, help save the lives of mothers and babies during childbirth, or help to fight sickle cell.

An appointment to give platelets takes around 2 hours, with the donation taking up to 90 minutes.

Your platelets could help someone combat cancer or recover from losing a lot of blood after an accident, organ transplant or surgery.
