Where to park

There is parking behind the donor centre in spaces labelled 'blood donor parking only'.

You can park free for up to 2 hours. You will need to enter your registration on arrival at the centre.

Travelling to the donor centre

The centre is located on Edgware Community Hospital site.

If you are travelling by:

  • bus: routes 32, 142, 204, 251, 614 and 644 stop across from the hospital.
  • tube: the closest underground station is Burnt Oak, which is on the Edgware branch of the Northern line. From there, it’s a 10 minute walk to the donor centre, or five minutes by bus using route 204 from the station.
  • car: follow signs for Edgware Community Hospital. We offer two hours of free parking for donors. You will need to enter your registration on arrival at the centre.

The donor centre is open on weekdays, evenings and weekends, as follows:

  • Monday - 7:45am to 4:50pm
  • Tuesday - 11am to 8:05pm
  • Wednesday - 7:45am to 4:50pm
  • Thursday - 11:30am to 7:15pm
  • Friday - 7:45am to 4:50pm
  • Saturday - closed
  • Sunday - 7:45am to 4:50pm

What you can donate

Blood

An appointment to give blood takes an hour, with the donation taking around 5-10 minutes.

Your blood could help someone in an emergency, help save the lives of mothers and babies during childbirth, or help to fight sickle cell.

An appointment to give platelets takes around 2 hours, with the donation taking up to 90 minutes.
